Achim Hofer - master violin maker
Born into a family of musicians from Kempten in southern Bavaria, Achim Hofer became interested in the art of violin making in 1983 while working in the town of Mittenwald with Matthias Klotz, a descendant of the well known old violin making family.
He acquired further skills in the art of violin making abd perfect restoration at the workshops of well known violin makers in Germany, England, and the USA.
The workshop in Füssen was opened in 1992.
The unique aesthetical and sound quality of his instruments is ensured by the combination of his skilled craftsmanship and his strive for perfection.
